A grassroots effort to raise money to save Haskell Playhouse in Alton has met its goal.  Supporters of the effort had hoped to bring in $50,000 by May 8.  It took about three weeks longer, but Carolyn Dooley, Chairman of the Haskell Playhouse Restoration Commission, says a last minute push got them over the top. 

Now, she says, it’s time to get to work on the much needed repairs:
