McRoy at WBGZ studiosToday’s Advantage begins its transformation into a local newspaper this weekend.  The first issue of Advantage News will be delivered free to homes in the Riverbend, with a focus on local news, sports, photos, and community events.  Future print issues will be available with a paid subscription accompanied by on-line content.

The weekly shopper known as Today’s Advantage will be renamed Advantage News Marketplace and will still arrive in the mail to homes in the Riverbend during the middle of the week.  In an interview on Z-1570's Let's Talk, Advantage News Vice President Eric McRoy describes what a subscriber will get along with the weekend newspaper:

Last month, Advantage News announced the hiring of several former Telegraph staffers including Dan Brannon, Johnny Aguirre, Steve Porter, and Fred Pollard.  McRoy says they will also be moving into new offices on Northport Drive in the weeks ahead.
