The Obama administration is going to give people signing up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act extra time to complete enrollment.  Officials said that anyone who claims they have begun the enrollment process before the March 31st deadline, will be given more time to complete the process.  This is a move the counselors at the Madison County Health Department are now dealing with as the final week of appointments is nearly over.

Kara Hughes, Community Educator with the Madison County Health Department, says even with the extra time, don’t put off signing up any longer.

The move is said to be made in anticipation of a last-minute surge of people seeking health insurance before the deadline.  The White House said more than one-point-one million people visited on Monday, the second largest day of traffic on the site.  It's uncertain how much more time will be given to consumers.
