Organizers of the fifth annual Edwardsville Rotary Criterium have booked a hometown girl that made it big as a singer on the national stage.  Tess Boyer competed on season six of “The Voice,” and the Edwardsville native will hit the stage as part of the Criterium activities on Saturday, August 16.


This is one of the biggest races in the region, and is sanctioned by USA Cycling.  Race Director S.J. Morrison says as satellite activities go, booking Boyer is very exciting.

He says the race will bring in about 300 cyclists from 11 states.  There is a total of $10,000 in prize money on the line, beginning at 3:00 a week from Saturday in Downtown Edwardsville.  For more information, log on to
