A lockdown is in place at the Southwestern Middle School/High School campus over an alleged threat made against a member of the school staff.   The lockdown was put into place on Wednesday and will remain in place at least through today.  Graduation for Southwestern High will still take place Friday night as scheduled.

Students should report to school as scheduled today, but there will be an increased security presence and no book bags or large bags will be allowed.  No visitors will be allowed at the school today as the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department continues the investigation.   A school staff member discovered the anonymous threat after 9am on Wednesday and the school was placed on lockdown.
