Brittany Kohler is the Content Manager of Riverbender.com and EdGlenToday.com. 

As a reporter, Kohler covers local events and provides feature articles for the local riverbend personalities and businesses. Kohler also runs the social media sites for Riverbender.com and all clients that Riverbender.com provides that service for. 

Born and raised in Alton Illinois, Kohler graduated from Alton High School in 2006. After attending Western Illinois University for a short while, Kohler decided to join the Marine Corps to travel and experience a fast pace structured lifestyle. Kohler graduated Marine Corps boot camp in March 2008 and was awarded Company Honor Graduate and Company Iron Woman.

Kohler graduated from the Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course, Basic Writing and Announcing Skills Course and Broadcast Operations and Maintenance Course at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Md. She was then stationed at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville North Carolina where she worked at the Joint Public Affairs office for the remainder of her term.

Kohler deployed to South America on the USS Gunston Hall in 2010 in support of Amphibious Southern Partnership Station 2011. There, she conducted and documented jungle survival training and humanitarian missions in Guatemala, Belize, Colombia and other locations along the way.

After a successful 4 years in the Marines, Kohler returned home to Alton and immediately began continuing her education. In 2013, Kohler received her Associates in Science from Lewis and Clark Community College and is currently enrolled in the Public Relations/Marketing program at Ashford University.

As an independent civilian contractor, Kohler continues to work for the Marine Corps Special Operations Command in support of their final training exercises.

An avid Cardinals fan and recreational volleyball player, Kohler enjoys the company of her many friends and takes advantage of spending time with her ever expanding family whenever she can. She believes Alton is perfect for her and is looking forward to one day raising children of her own in the same town she grew up in.
