Brent Feeney, Sports Writer

Feeney, 56, is a native of Granite City and graduated from Granite City South in 1978. He was a part-time writer for the old Granite City Journal from 1979-84 before attending Eastern Illinois University in Charleston,
from which he earned his BA in journalism in 1988. He has worked for newspapers in Sikeston, Mo., Rocky Mount, N.C., Seneca, S.C. and in Charleston-Mattoon. He also worked for the old St. Clair County Suburban

He is single and currently resides Collinsville with his twin brother Colin. He is an avid fan of the three St. Louis sports teams (Cardinals, Blues, STLFC); Missouri, Illinois and Eastern Illinois in college sports; the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League; the Geelong Cats and Carlton Blues of the Australian Football League (Australian Rules football); the South Sydney Rabbitohs of the National Rugby League in Australia; and the US Men's and Women's national soccer teams.

In his spare time, he volunteers for St. Louis community radio station KDHX-FM and is an active member of the Ethical Society of St. Louis. He also is a fan of classic movies (three of his all-time favorite films are early MGM silent films) and of the television quiz show Jeopardy! and has auditioned twice for the show; he describes himself as a "future Jeopardy! champion."
