I got into my line of work because I love stories.

When I was a kid I read a lot of comic books and mythologies, and they were great for the imagination. Now that they tell me I'm a grown-up...I tell very different stories but with the same kind of open mind: news-related, public interest, local business, humanitarian stories...Instead of larger-than-life characters and sensationalized tales, let's talk about everyday folks just doing some good here and there...

The annual Beggin' Pet Parade has come back to Soulard, and despite the chilly weather people and pets have shown up in great numbers! We made some great friends and saw some crazy costumes...
We met with Caitlin Custer from the Madison County Health Department to talk about their Affordable Care Act Assistance Program. There are a lot of folks out there that don't fully understand what the Act means, and Caitlin and her associates are out to change that.
The TCAY Tidal Waves provide a fun, safe, environment for kids to develop both physically and mentally. They're a non-profit organization but they still practice all year long, and they're always looking for more volunteers, donors, and especially new teammates!
The Friends of Abraham Lincoln were kind enough to join us at My Just Desserts in Alton for a special dinner event, courtesy of the Alton Little theatre! My Just Desserts is located in one of downtown Alton's historic buildings, and Mr. Lincoln's friends had much to share with their dining guests about...
Every month the Hayner Public Library hosts the Bow-wow Pow-wow, an awesome little event where kids get to read to, and pal around with, some fantastic certified therapy dogs from Touched By A Canine. Come see who showed up this month!
Take a look at the First Annual February Freeze Tall Timber Trail run at Aerie's Riverview Winery. The event kicked off with a 12-hour Ultra Run Friday night and concluded with a 6-mile Final Lap race Saturday. Trail runners from all over attended the event, which stayed true to its name on this cold,...
Alton Police Chief, Jason Simmons, delivered a press conference today to address the arrest of the final four suspects in a violent home invasion that occurred in Alton on January 16th.
The Mascoutah Indians traveled to take on the CM Eagles on this chilly Thursday, January 9th.
For Gimme-A-Break week the RBCC had World-famous Yo-Yo-er Ian Cole, the Yo-Yo Kid, come by to do a demonstration and show us some of his championship moves!
We stopped in at the Lewis & Clark campus in Godfrey, IL to see what was going on at their New Year's Eve celebration, First Night. The family-friendly event had everything from clowns making balloon animals to caricature artists, paper hat making, and even a stilt-juggler! There were live shows from...
