Left-handed pitcher Victoria Beachum holds both the single season and career strikeout school records at East Alton-Wood River High School. She was recognized for her accomplishments last Friday night (Jan. 29) during a EA/WR boys basketball game.
Tori recorded an Oilers record 267 strikeouts during her senior season in the spring of 2015. She also owns the career strikeouts record at the school with 779-K's. Beachum pitcher 175 innings during the 2015 spring season, recording 267 strikeouts with a 1.87 ERA. She went 16-and-7 during the '15 season.
Tori also batted .403 during her junior year (2014) and hit .372 her senior year. She had a .361 career batting average in her 4 years with the Oilers.
She received a scholarship to play Division I softball at SIU-Edwardsville where she will be a freshman in the upcoming 2016 season.
Beachum was interviewed during the basketball pre-game last Friday night before the halftime ceremony. Her photo and accomplishments are now in place in the trophy case outside of Memorial Gym at EA/WR.
