The Cardinals are playing a weekend series at home against the Pirates. The Pirates beat the cards Friday 4-3. Last night the Cardinals lost again, 7-3. The Cardinals did little offensively, other than a first-inning homer by Carpenter. Lance Lynn had his longest stint in 6 starts. Lynn drew boos from the crowd when he walked Gerrit Cole to load the bases for the Pirates in the 6th inning, causing Matheny to put in John Brebbia, with no success. Game three is tonight at 7.

 

FL Baseball:

 

The Grizzlies are playing a weekend series at home in Sauget against the Florence Freedom. The Grizzlies won 3-2 Friday, but couldn't come through for the win last night losing 6-2. Game three is tonight at 6.

 

NHL Draft:

The St. Louis Blues made six selections at the 2017 NHL draft this weekend, including forwards Robert Thomas (20th), Klim Kostin (31st), and Alexey Toropchenko (113th), as well as defensemen David Noel (130th), Trenton Bourque (175th), and Anton Andersson (206th). The Blues also made two trades late in the first round on Friday. They sent Jori Lehtera and their second pick in the first round, including a conditional pick in 2018 draft to the Philly Flyers for center Brayden Schenn. They also traded Ryan Reaves and the 51st pick in this year's draft to the Pits Penguins for center Oskar Sundqvist and the 31st pick, the final pick of the 1st round.

 

 

CBWS:

 

The College Baseball Series in Omaha is down to the final four this weekend. Friday LSU beat Oregon State 3-1 and TCU beat Florida 9-2. Second games for the four teams were played Sat. LSU beat Oregon State 6-1 yesterday and Florida beat TCU 3-0.

 

Florida and LSU play tomorrow at 6pm.
