Marquette football coach Tim Nelson will not be offered a contract to coach football at the school next season (the fall of 2013).

After five seasons with the Explorers, Nelson has been released of his duties as the head football coach mainly due to the fact that he is not a teacher at the high school as an in-house teacher.  His five year record as head coach at Marquette was 33-and-19 including 10-and-2 in 2012 when Marquette advanced to the Class 4A quarterfinals.

Marquette will apparently fill the head coaching vacancy with an in-house (in-school) teacher who is currently an assistant football coach.
