The Marquette Lady Explorers won a volleyball tournament they co-hosted with East Alton Wood River on Saturday.   Marquette finished 3-0, with a come from behind championship game victory over Trenton Wesclin 2 games to 1.

Marquette beat Bunker Hill and Springfield Lanphier to advance to the finals, while Wesclin defeated East Alton Wood River and Cahokia to advance.

Carly Creel and Regina Guehlstorf were named all-tournament players for Marquette.  Creel had 42 digs over three games, while Guehlstorf had 20 kills.  Also for Marquette, Peyton Kline had 59 assists, Brooklyn Taylor had 12 solo blocks and Jenna Zacha had 9 aces and 25 service points on the day.

Following Wesclin in second place, was Cahokia in third, Springfield Lanphier in 4th, Bunker Hill in 5th and East Alton Wood River was 6th.

Morgan Moxey of the Lady Oilers was also named all-tournament.

Marquette improves to 8-5. on the season and will host Granite City on Tuesday.
