Former SIUE tennis star Ken Flach died Monday in Calfornia from complications from bronchitis & pneumonia. He was 54 years old.
Flach won NCAA Division II singles & doubles titles at SIUE in 1981, '82, & '83. He joined (SIUE) Cougar teammate Robert Seguso to also capture 4 Grand Slam titles with 2 at Wimbledon (1987-1988) & 2 at the U.S. Open (1985 & 1993). He also won 2 Grand Slam titles in mixed doubles.

>Flach & Seguso represented the U.S. in Davis Cup play from 1985-to-1991
>inducted into the St. Louis tennis Hall of Fame in 1998
>inducted into the SIUE athletics Hall of Fame in 2008
