The run is over for Edwardsville Post 199 in the American Legion Baseball playoffs.  Post 199 won it’s first game on Monday to force a championship contest last night, but lost to Napoleon, Ohio, in game two and the season came to an end.


Edwardsville took game one 7-6, thanks to a late inning rally including four runs in the eighth inning to take the lead for good.  Jevon Boyd went 3-3, and Jordan Heckler was 2-5 in the game.   Zack Sparks earned the win in game one.

In game two, Napoleon scored in the bottom of the 7th in break a 1-1 tie, held on for a 3-1 win to advance to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina on Friday against a team from Burnsville, Minnesota.

Edwardsville Post 199 ends its season at 37-8.
