The Cardinals slammed three home runs last night on their way to a 10-2 win over the San Diego Padres. Stephen Piscotty smacked his 13th home run, Randal Grichuk connected for his 12th long ball while Jedd Gyorko belted his 8th homer of the year.
St. Louis outhit San Diego, 13-7.
Starter Mike Leake improved to 7-and-7 with the win. The righthander pitched 6-innings and allowed 1-run, 6-hits, with no-walks and 11-strikeouts. Leake threw 88-pitches on the night.
The Redbirds and Padres play game 2 of their 4-game series tonight. Game time Tuesday - 7:15 pm. Carlos Martinez (8-6) is expected to start for St. Louis.
