The Alton Lady Redbirds came close to a trip to the IHSA Girls Bowling State Tournament but missed the cut by a handful of pins. Alton tallied 5,714 pins in the tournament, falling just six pins shy of the final qualifying slot. While the season ends for the team, one Redbird will bowl next weekend, Alton's Eryka Graham knocked down 1,305 pins to earn a berth as an individual in the state finals. Herrin won the team title Saturday and was followed by Collinsville, Salem and O'Fallon who also advance to next weekends tournament in Rockford.
