William “Bill” C. Horn, 88, died Friday, March 22, 2204 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born December 22, 1935 in Alton, he was the son of Charles and Florence (Howard) Horn Sr. Mr. Horn served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. He retired as an engineer for A T & T. Following his retirement, he was a communications trainer across the country. On August 20, 1960 he married the former Betty Jean Clement at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Alton. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Ann Brooks (Dan) of Naples, FL, and Suzanne M. Palmieri of Godfrey, IL, five grandchildren, Michael Brooks of Memphis, TN, Christopher Brooks (Melissa) of Cordova, TN, Jennifer Brooks of Naples, FL, Jimmy Palmieri of Corona, CA, and Vinny Palmieri of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by a sister, Cathy Coffman (Rich) of Alton, IL, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Horn and Mary Horn. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deanne E. Horn, a sister, Ellen Wiley, and three brothers, Dr. Charles Horn Jr., John T. Horn and Richard H. Horn. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steven Janoski will officiate.
