William Ewing 'Bill' Finn, 88, went to Glory at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Relais Bonne Eau Hospice Home in Edwardsville.
Born in East Alton on November 8, 1926, he was the son of William Thomas and Myrtle Hannah (Martin) Finn.
A World War II navy veteran, he served as Water Commissioner for the Village of East Alton for over 15 years before retiring. A Shepherd of God, he was a pastor for two General Baptist Churches in Madison County.
On October 10, 1952 in East Alton, he married the former Dorma Eva Jane Montgomery. She survives.
Surviving also are three daughters, Lynne E. Finn and Lisa G. Finn of Edwardsville, Lori A. (Jim) Berry of Wood River; four grandchildren, Robin E. (Ashely) Brown, Devin L. (Ashely) Reynolds, Dillon E. Reynolds, Lauren N. Reynolds; three great grandchildren, Taylor K., Sophee and Ellah Brown; a great-great grandson, Cameron; and a sister, Mary Beth Finn of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald G. Finn.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday. Pastor Dan Smith will officiate.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
