Vivian Kadell

Vivian W. Kadell, 86, died at 7:35 a.m, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Jerseyville.She was born in Fidelity Township, Jersey County, Il. on Oct. 3, 1928, one of six children born to the late Fred & Verna (Watson) Marshall.For many years Vivian was a sales clerk at Bertmans Clothing in Jerseyville, and during her 30 years there she was very proud of the lasting friendships that she made along the way.   After the closing of Bertman's, Vivian went down the street to Rudolph's Department Store, where she finished out her career in the retail industry.She married William Kadell on June 21, 1947 in Jacksonville, and together they have shared 67 years together and were the parents of three children.Surviving are her husband, William Kadell of Jerseyville; a daughter, Sandy Weigler of Jerseyville; two sons & a daughter in law, Gary Kadell, and his companion, Nita Vespa of Godfrey, and Dave & Martha Kadell of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren & their spouses, Shelly & Mark Kanallakan of Rosedale, Kevin & Mindy Hanneken of Jerseyville, Jeremy Kadell, and his fiance', Sara of Jerseyville, Jessica & Tim Dean of Jerseyville, Katie & Kirk Jackson of Carlinville, John Kadell, and his fiance' Caitlin of Jerseyville, and Mattie Kadell, and her fiance', Nathan of Jerseyville; 16 Great Grandchildren; a brother & sister in law, Fred & Donna Marshall of Jerseyville; two sisters & brothers in law, Marcella Meredith and Freda & Fred Bock all ofJerseyville; a sister in law, Barbara Marshall of Jerseyville.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son in law, Terry Weigler; a brother, Marvin Marshall; a sister & brother in law, Sharon & Clifford Frazier; and a brother in law, William "Pat" Meredith.Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Tuesday until 11:45 a.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the St. Franics/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools in Jerseyville.
