Sister Roberts

Sister Mary Jerome Roberts (formerly Mary Elizabeth Ann), 91 of Alton IL passed away April 29, 2015.She is survived by three brothers Ivo of Florissant, Tom of Silex, and Dan of Silex, one sister Mary Shocklee of Silex. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Caroline Ann Bauer Roberts, four sisters, and five brothers.Sister Mary Jerome entered religious life as a Sister of Divine Providence on August 15, 1942.  During her more than seventy two years of religious life she was a teacher, principal, nurse, volunteer coordinator, pastoral minister, and sacristan. She served many years at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital (Gateway Regional) in Granite City, IL. She is fondly remembered as a gentle yet strong woman of faith and prayer.There will be no wake or viewing. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Rose Phillippine Duchesne Catholic Church in Florrisant, MO.   Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.staten-fine.com
