Reinhold “Ron” W. Borgmann, 78, passed away at 9:37 pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Christian Hospital N.E. in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on May 1, 1937, in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Reinhold & Blanche E. (Linstromberg) Borgmann.
He is survived by Joan M. (Vahrenhorst) whom he married on August 23, 1958 at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO. They were planning to celebrate 57 years of marriage.
Ron served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, stationed in France during the Korean Conflict. He served as a Vice President at Missouri Savings and Loan where he worked for 28 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Chapel in St. Louis, MO, where he ushered for over 50 years. He is currently a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri & Jerry Scheumann of Prairietown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don & Renee Borgmann of St. Charles, MO and Jim & Sheryl Borgmann of St. Louis, MO; twelve grandchildren, Andy, Jamie, Casey, Taylor, Dan, Jessie, Kara, Jodie, Mark, Faith, Luke and Brooke and one brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Diane Borgmann of Lake of the Ozarks, MO.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairietown, with Pastor Nathan Ruback officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Prairietown, with military honors.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Grace Chapel Lutheran Church or Lutheran High School North
