Phillip Boda

Wood River |

Phillip Ray Boda, 46, passed away unexpectedly at 9:39 pm Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.   

He was born in Wood River, IL on October 25, 1968, the son of Melvin J. Boda and Barbara A. (Kimbro) Boda. 

He married Andrea J. Martin on December 15, 1990 in Alton.  She survives.

Phil was an independent bricklayer.  He enjoyed shooting pool at Riverbend Billards in Alton.  He loved spending time with his family and friends and most of all he loved being a “Papa” to his three grandbabies. 

In addition to his wife, he was survived by his father, Melvin of Benld, IL; his mother, Barbara of Godfrey; three children, Tiffany Boda (Brandon) of Farmersville, Illinois, Michael and his wife,  Anna Boda and Amanda Boda all of Wood River; three grandchildren, Andrew, Avery and Camille; two brothers, David Boda of Staunton and Greg Boda of Lincoln; a sister, Amber Boda of Jerseyville; his in-laws, Jerry and LaWanda Martin of East Alton and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Timothy Boda, who passed away at three years of age, his grandparents, Lauretta Nicholson Kimbro and Charles Kimbro and Melvin and Bernice Boda, and a cousin, Michael Kimbro.

Visitation will be from 10 until services at 1 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
