Peggy B. Trogdon, age 77, of Edwardsville, formerly of Alton, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Anderson Hospital.She was born March 6, 1937, in Odessa TX, the daughter of Raymond and Annabelle (Price) Trogdon.Ms. Trogdon lived the majority of her life in Alton, before retiring in Edwardsville. After graduating from Washington University, she began her career as a teacher in Hartford. Ms. Trogdon then moved to Roxana Junior High School, from which she retired after thirty years. She was a KMOX/St. Louis Post-Dispatch Teacher of The Year. She sponsored student council for many years and was beloved by many students.Peggy was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. An avid reader and shopper, she also enjoyed traveling and going to restaurants with her many friends. She enjoyed her condominium in Florida and spent a lot of time there. Peggy especially loved dogs.She is survived by four nieces, Daryl, Melissa, Amy and Becky; one nephew, Raymond; and many dear friends.She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Betty Trogdon; and a sister, Jean Ann Trogdon.A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 10:00 am, at Main St. United Methodist Church in Alton with Rev.
