Nancy Ann Gerdt, 76, died at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at V.I.P. Manor in Wood River. Born June 9, 1938 in Alton, she was the daughter of Perry and Lillie (Godwin) Campbell. She retired from the Alton School District in 2001 as a cafeteria worker at Lewis & Clark Grade School. She was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church and enjoyed traveling having visited all 50 states as well as numerous other countries. On February 26, 1955 she married Arnold E. Gerdt in Corinth, MS. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Randall “Randy” Gerdt (Shelia Diane) of Granite City, Danny Gerdt of Godfrey, and Gary Gerdt (Mary) of Roxana, three grandchildren, Travis, Jonah, and Hannah Gerdt. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014. Reverend Charles Hoekstra will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Salem Presbyterian Church.
