Margaret “Peggy” Tracy, 81, died at 2:55 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 as a result of a vehicle accident. Born June 13, 1931 in Alton, she was the daughter of Julius and Blanche (Meyer) Boerner. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey.
She loved her family and friends and playing bridge and reading. On February 11, 1956 she married Terence Meehan Tracy in Alton. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2002. Surviving are four children, Dr. Patrick T. Tracy (Beth) of Peoria, IL, Julia M. Tracy of Godfrey, John L. Tracy (Melanie) of Ballwin, MO, and Robert E. Tracy (Emily) of Beaverton, OR, two grandchildren, Bill Tracy of Daytona Beach, FL, and Anne Tracy of Champaign, IL, four siblings, Eleanor Siglock of Livermore, CA, Edward Boerner of Bethalto, Dorothy Levens of Dallas, TX, and Thomas Boerner of Alton, and many much-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, James and Robert Boerner, and two sisters, Jean Wagenblast and Mary Alice Schmidt.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice, the 5A’s Animal Shelter or a charity of choice.
