Marcella Jean Stephens, 80, died at 5:53 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab in Edwardsville. She was born April 30, 1934, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Norton. She retired from A T & T as a telephone operator after 37 years of service. Surviving are three daughters, Laurie Moran (Dave) of Wood River, Linda Kitzmiller of Wood River, and Lesa Cope (Scott) of Rosewood Heights, six grandchildren, Nick and Nate Moran, Lindsay and Jake Kitzmiller, and Michael and Zachary Cope, one great grandson, Jason Cyle. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
