Lynn Cox

White Hall |

Lynn Etta Cox, 62, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at her home in White Hall.

She was born on June 4, 1961 in Jerseyville to George Clinton and Coleen Jeanette (Ramsey) Daniels. Lynn grew up, along with her siblings, in Rosedale Township, Jersey County, Illinois and was a 1979 graduate of Jersey Community High School.

As a teenager, she began her career in the Nursing Field, a career that would span nearly forty years in total, and impact countless lives with her dedicated service to her patients and their families. Her career started as a CNA at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, followed by time spent at the Convalescent Center in Jacksonville and ended at the former Green Acres (now White Hall Nursing and Rehab), where she spent 37 years serving in various capacities throughout the years, ending her career as the Activity Director.

She married the love of her life, Robert Cox on January 23, 1982 in Kane, Illinois and together their marriage was blessed in countless ways, sharing in some of the greatest memories with their children and grandchildren throughout their 42 years of marriage.

Lynn enjoyed shopping, and took advantage of every opportunity that she had to do so. From a young age, she developed a love for camping, and continued to do so with her family and friends.

She also enjoyed crafting of all kinds, from painting to floral arrangements. There wasn’t a project that she wasn’t willing to try, and no matter what it was, she excelled at it. The many celebrations she helped bring to life and the creations she shared with her family and friends will be forever cherished.

While she was a passionate nurse and a gifted crafter, it will be the values in which she lived her life that she will be most remembered by. Two words that perfectly describe Lynn are: Faith and Family. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and strong in her Christian Faith. When it came to her family, there was nothing that brought her greater joy than being a faithful wife, a loving mother and a proud and doting grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Cox of White Hall; a daughter and son in-law, Jessica and Ben Stetson of White Hall; a son, Matt Seats of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Myles, Gavin, Wade, Dean, Julien and Nora; a sister and brother in-law, Bonnie and Ed Foley of Washington, Missouri; a brother and sister in-law, Tony and Karen Daniels of White Hall; as well as a very special cousin, who was more like a sister to Lynn, Becky Goodman-Currier of Jerseyville and her son, Bradley Goodman of Eldred; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Daniels on January 20, 2017; her mother, Coleen Daniels on December 24, 2023; a sister in infancy, Arlene Daniels; paternal grandparents, Everett and Emma Daniels and maternal grandparents, Gervis and Constance Ramsey.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Kane Baptist Church in Kane.
