Lori Michelle (Breitweiser) Schultz, 37, died at 1:42 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center with her family at her side after a nine month battle with brain cancer.She was born in Jerseyville on March 13, 1978, one of two daughters born to Gerald R. and Alice M. (Weller) Breitweiser.Lori graduated in 1996 from Jersey Community High School, where she excelled in girls basketball and volleyball.  She then went on to Lewis & Clark Community College and earned her BS in Education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and her Masters Degree in Education from Rockford University.She was employed for the past 14 years with the Southwestern School District serving as a teacher at Medora Elementary.Lori was a devoted and passionate mother, and was involved in every aspect of their lives.  She coached their various ballteams, assisted with their schoolwork, and instilled in them the values so that they could grow up to be good, honest men.She married Matthew Charles Schultz on Aug. 5, 2000 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and together they have shared 14 years together and shared in the joys of their two sons.Surviving are her husband, Matt Schultz of Jerseyville; her two sons, Logan Matthew Schultz and Jackson Robert Schultz both at home; her parents, Gerald & Alice Breitweiser of Jerseyville; her sister, Lisa Breitweiser of Jerseyville; and her father in law and mother in law, John & Charlene Schultz of Jerseyville.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene & Alberta Breitweiser and Robert & Mildred Weller.Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., ,Wednesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father Patrick Gibbons officiating.She will be laid to rest in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to an educational fund for her sons through Crawford Funeral Home.
