Loretta Frey

Loretta Christina Frey, (nee Ripperda) age 96 of Pierron, IL, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL.

Loretta was born March 7, 1928 in Germantown, IL to Bernard and Frances (Eilers). They preceded her in death. On June 16, 1948 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, she married Julian S. Frey. He proceeded her in death on July 28, 2001. She is survived by five children, Bonita (Howard) Boeckman of Breese, Susanna (Dale) Rommerskirchen of Highland, Steve (Sharon) Frey of Pierron, Roger (Kathy) Frey of Pocahontas, and Darlene (Allen) Menietti of Breese. One brother, Virgil E. Ripperda of Trenton and 14 grandchildren. Douglas Boeckman, Cheryl (Dennis) Rudophi, Dean (Lindsey) Boeckman, Dane Boeckman, Kyle (Amy) Rommerskirchen, Sarah (John) Duval, Aaron (Katy) Frey, Kelsey (Justin) Louvier, Kayla (Caleb) Gilmore, Thomas (Jennifer) Frey, Melissa (Josh Sieffert) Menietti, Michelle (Chris) Kalmer, Nicholas (Kayla Contreras) Menietti, Brendan (Mariah Zinn) Menietti. She is also survived by great grandchildren. Dawson and Abigail Rudolphi; Carter, Cameron, and Cayden Boeckman; Aiden and Harper Frey; Ellie Duval; Trenton and Taylor Frey; Dominic Sieffert; Nora, Fay and Nash Kalmer. She was also preceded in death by brothers, sister and sister-in-laws, Norbert (Dolores) Ripperda, Eugene (Valaria) Ripperda, Florentine Ripperda, Paul (Johanna) Rakers, Cyril Ripperda, Robert (Kathy) Ripperda. One brother and sister in infancy and grandchild, Timothy Frey who died in infancy, son-in-law Howard Boeckman, in-laws Ed and Matilda (Luber) Frey. She attended school at Woodlane School, Germantown, IL. She worked at Artex International, Highland, IL for many years and retired in 1994. She lived on the Frey family farm for 18 years. In 1966, she and her husband, built a new home and moved into Pierron, IL.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL, Rev. Fr. Paul Bonk, Pastor, officiating. 

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pierron, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Calvary Cemetery.
