WaterlooLoretta Edwards, 83, formerly of Alton, passed away at 8:14 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Waterloo, IL.She was born in Harrisburg, IL on March 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Almon and Ruby (Rhodes) Pelhank. She married Roger Edwards on September 1, 1950 in Alton, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2012.Loretta was a clerk at JC Penny for many years. She had been a life-long member of Cherry Street Baptist Church, and then a member of Godfrey Baptist Church for several years.She is survived by three children and their spouses, Geniece Lynn and Mark Brandt of Waterloo, Lisa Ann and Jeff McDonald of St Charles, MO, and Kenneth and Brenda Edwards of Alton; a brother, John Pelhank of Alton; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchilden.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Lillie Shewmaker, Betty Stolze, Jenny Bierman, and Daniel Pelhank.Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2015, from 3:00 pm until the time of memorial service at 5:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Pastor Matt Friz officiating.Memorials may be made to Oak Hills Nursing Home Activities Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is in charge of arrangements.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
