Lois June Martin Greathouse, 89, died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Blu-Fountain Manor. Born June 2, 1925 in Granite City, she was the daughter of Elbie and Bertha (Johannpeter) Martin. She married Homer E. Greathouse in 1947 and together they operated the Blu Del Diner in North Alton. They later moved to Florida and opened Del-Mar Reality. June is survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Martin (Stanley), many nieces and nephews, and two step-daughters, Sherry Bucher (Ray) and Marcia Hattemar (Larry). In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband Homer, three sisters, Dorothy Sweeney, Elberta Fritzsche, and Judy Donley, and three brothers, Wallace, Warren, and Stanley Martin. At June’s request, her body will be cremated and no public services are scheduled. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
