Leonard Fairfax

Leonard F. Fairfax age 79 departed this life on Sunday April 12, 2015 at 6:21 a.m. at Foxes Grove Supportive Living Center.  He was born March 21, 1936 in Jerseyville, Illinois.  He was the son of Nancy Fairfax-Isabell.  He attended school in Jerseyville, Illinois.  Leonard was married to the former Willie Mae Foster in 1953, who survives.  He served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955. Leonard was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation.  He was a member of Royal Lakes Community Baptist Church in Royal Lakes, Illinois.He is survived by his son Randall L. Fairfax of Kansas City, MO; 3 daughters, Denise D. (Phaon) Swopes and Shawlet Johnson both of Alton; and Lenora Francine Fairfax of Oklahoma City, OK; 10 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, a sister Peggy Gibson of Alton, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his sister Anna Grace Stewart and his grandson Michael  A.
