Larry Beecher Baysinger, 71, died at 6:18 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his home in Godfrey. Born July 20, 1943 in Delaplaine, Arkansas, he was the son of Beecher and Omma (McKinley) Baysinger. Mr. Baysinger retired in 2001 from Southwestern High School after teaching for 29 years. He then taught at Mississippi Valley Christian School for seven years. He was a faithful and active member of Faith Baptist Church for 43 years where he enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working at summer camp. On December 4, 1971 he married the former Linda Wilemon in Cahokia, IL. She survives. Also surviving is a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and John Kohl of Millstadt, IL, their three children, son, Matthew Kohl (Missy) of Dupo, IL, and children, Devan and Peyton, daughter, Amy Kempton (BJ) of Madisonville, KY, and children, Tessa and Abbi, and daughter, Kelly Kohl of Belleville, IL and child, McKenzie. Also surviving is a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Kim Wilemon of Mount Vernon, IL, and children, Jared, Jenna Kirsch (Chandler), Jordan, and James, and many adopted grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. The celebration of his Home-going will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church, 7505 N. Humbert Rd., Godfrey, IL in lieu of the regular 6:00 p.m. church service. Reverend Tom Olney will officiate. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Godfrey.
