JERSEYVILLE- June I. Stevens, 93, formerly of Grafton, died at 11:58 a.m., Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.She was born in Grafton on Oct. 5, 1920, one of two children born to the late Leslie & Sarah Emma (Matthews) Waggoner.June married Lural Stevens Sr. on April 15, 1946 in Alton and for many years resided in Grafton where they raised their four children. The shared nearly 42 years together before his death on Feb. 21, 1988.Surviving are two daughters and a son in law, Carolyn Watson of Brighton and Lisa & James Fowler of Alton; a daughter in law, Frances Stevens of Paducah, Ky.; five grandchildren & their spouses, Jeff & Donna Watson of Brighton, June Eschbach of Alton, Len & Beth Edwards of Goose Creek, SC., Kimberly Stevens and Stephanie Stevens both of Paducah, Ky.; seven great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by her son, Lural "Butch" Stevens Jr.; a daughter, Jennifer Edwards; a son in law, Gerald "Jerry" Watson; a grandson, Brian Eschbach; and a brother, James Laverne Waggoner.Visitation will be from 10 a.m., Thursday at the Grafton United Methodist Church until time of funeral services at 12 noon. Rev. Adam Hosmer will officiate.Burial will be in the Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.Memorials may be given to the Grafton United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member and was the oldest living member at the time of her death.Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is in charge of the arrangements.
