Julia E. Edwards, 89, passed away at 11:04 am Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Christian Hospital NE in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born July 10, 1925 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Alvin and Lulu (Crumley) Carlton.
She married James L. Edwards. He survives.
Julia was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Wood River VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by nine children; five stepchildren; 31grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a grandson, two brothers and a sister, Josephine McClain.
Visitation will be from 5 until services at 7:30 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Clyde E. Myers officiating.
Graveside services will be at 10:15 am at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to the Cottage Hills Baptist Church.
