Judith A. (Hargis) Twente, 72, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at her home.
Born July 15, 1943 in Hartford, she was a daughter of Ed and Ruth (Armstrong) Hargis.
She married Gary E. Twente Dec. 19, 1964. He passed away in 1998.
Judy worked as a banquet coordinator at the former Holiday Inn in Alton and also was a floral designer for Country Fair in Bethalto. Judy’s heart was filled with love for her family and for the Lord. She was very protective of her kids, and many times expressed her concern for their care once she was gone.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Diana (Jim) Little of South Roxana, Christine Oliver of Wood River, and Mindy Abernathy of Alton; a son, Danny Twente of Cottage Hills; 5 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter; and 5 sisters, Cheryl (Leon) Philippe of Cottage Hills, Gail (Robert) Dellamano of Bethalto, Connie (Gilbert) Rushton of Shipman, Denise (Doug) Frasier of Wood River, and Andrea (John) Clagg of Maryville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brady Twente; and 2 sisters, Joyce Gagliardi and Debbie Hargis.
Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 22 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 3 p.m. until services begin at 4 p.m.
