Joy L. Van de Hey, 55, passed away unexpectedly at 12:50 am Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home.
She was born on December 4, 1958 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Edwin “Ed’ and Elinor (McKee) Unterbrink.
She married Michael T. Van de Hey in June 1986 at Zion Lutheran Church. He passed away on June 16, 2005.
Joy was a registered nurse at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO for over 15 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her father, Ed of Moro, two sons, Chris Van de Hey and Mark Van de Hey both of Moro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Jeanie Unterbrink of Orlando, FL and Dennis and Nancy Unterbrink of DeForest, WI; her father-in-law, Leonard Van de Hey of Portage, WI and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her mother-in-law, Joan M. Van de Hey.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto with Pastor Kale Hanson officiating.
