Jean Marie (Marks) Grames, 87, passed away Thursday April 30, 2015 at 1:53 pm at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born in Elkhart, IN on January 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Charles A. and C. Edna (Pletcher) Marks.
She married Robert E. Grames on June 26, 1949 in Elkhart, IN. He preceded her in death in March of 1995.
She lived in the Riverbend area for 40 years and attended the Godfrey 1st United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Ronald and Lynn Grames of Florissant, MO, Arthur and Linda Grames of Godfrey, and Charles and Sandra Grames, of St. Charles, MO; eight Grandchildren; and nine Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a companion of ten years, Walter Sale in June of 2014; three brothers, Donald Marks, Richard Marks, and Charles Marks Jr; and three sisters Wilma Chester, Lorene Verberkmoes, Kathleen Lyerla.
In celebration of her life a memorial service will be held at 3 pm on May 15, 2015 at the Godfrey 1st United Methodist Church.
