KANE-  Janet Lee Kallal, 75, died at 8:34 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Provision Living in Godfrey, after several years of declining health.She was born in Kane on Feb. 20, 1939,one of seven daughters born to Burl Walter & Violet Mae (Winters) Crawford.Janet graduated from Jersey Community High School, and attended the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Alton.  She was employed as a Registered Nurse for 34 years at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville prior to her retirement.She married William Joseph "Bill" Kallal on May 6, 1961 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and they shared 37 years together and were blessed with one daughter, before his death on June 4, 1998.Surviving are her mother, Vi Crawford of Alton (formerly of Kane); a daughter, Cindy Begnel of Godfrey; her four precious grandchildren, Alex, Katie, Kyle and Jacob; five sisters, Joan Foster of Jerseyville, Jean Bryant of Ferguson, Mo., Joy Bray of Jerseyville, Jane Snyder of Alton, and June Heberling of White Hall; along with many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Burl Crawford; an infant sister, Jacqueline Crawford; a niece, Patti (Foster) Price; and two nephews, Corey Heberling and Patrick Bray.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Kane Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Meyer officiating.Burial will take place in the Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the Kane Baptist Church or to Marquette Catholic High School in Alton.
