James Knuth

James W. Knuth, 81, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away at home on Friday, January 29, 2016.  He was born on January 13, 1935, in Dallas City, Illinois, the son of the late Marcus Knuth and Anita Ruth (Stevens) Lough.  He is survived by his wife of 32 years Fonda Windom Knuth, formerly of Galesburg.  Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Lisa and Chuck Swigart of Gilson, Illinois, Lorie and Mike Thurman of Washington, Illinois, two sons and a daughter in law: James R. Knuth of Galesburg, William and Alicia Knuth of Springfield, Illinois, six granddaughters, three great grandsons, one sister and brother in law: Sherry and Bob Weedman of Wyoming, Illinois, two brothers and a sister in law: Marcus “Jackie” and Charlotte Knuth of Galesburg, Donald Knuth of Mendota, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

He worked for Santa Fe Railroad on the signal gang for 4 years.  He worked for Whirpool for 40 ½ years where he retired from in 1996.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany from 1956-1959.  He loved the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Ronald Knuth and Daniel Knuth.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held.
