James Thomas Neece, 96, passed away 1:20 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at VIP Manor in Wood River.
Born in Merrit, IL on April 14, 1918, he was the son of Eugene and Lula (Briggs) Neece.
He had been employed in the Casting Department of Olin Corporation several years before retiring.
He married the former Frances Pauline Kelley, who preceded him in death, then later married Nellie F. Woods, who survives.
Surviving also are two sons, James (Judy) Neece of St. Paul, MN, Don (Rosalie) Neece of Maryville; four grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Brown, Susan (Pat) Robien, Mike (Shannon) Neece, Tom (Julie) Neece; and eight great grandchildren, Alyssa Miller, Kyan Brown, Jackson and McKenzie Robien, Conner Robien, Jimmy, Matt and Allie Neece.
Preceding in death was his 1st wife and eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 10a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
