James "Jim" C. Kimbro, 61, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at his residence.
He was born in Alton on August 12, 1962, the son of James C. and Mildred Ruth (Vinyard) Kimbro, Sr.
Jim is a United States Army Veteran. He worked as a union painter for District 58 Local 471. He was non-denominational and loved to pray. He enjoyed coon hunting with his friends Kenny Feazel, Tim Sherwood, and his grandson, Jacob. His hobbies included drinking beer and raisin' hell. He was rowdy, but a loving man. You could always find him telling a story. He was also a "grandma's boy." He absolutely loved spending time with his friends and family any chance he could, especially his grandchildren, RaeLee and Jacob, who were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his son, Jacob Kimbro of Cottage Hills; his significant other, Jennifer Hunt of Cottage Hills; his sister, Veronica Kimbro of Wood River; his brother, Charlie & Laura Kimbro of Cottage Hills; his best friends, Tim Sherwood of Brighton and Kenny Feazel of Alton; his ex-wife, Terri Williams; his daughter-in-law, Kelli Rae Clendenny and her parents, Darrell and Lisa Clendenny; his grandchildren, RaeLee and Jacob; and his dogs, Spike and Tank.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Bazzell; a brother, Michael Kimbro; and a good friends, Randy Gold and Glynn Rhodes.
Jim is now resting in peace, living his dream of being an "old cowboy."
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at the Cottage Hills VFW at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto has been entrusted with cremation rites.
