Irma E. H. Weiss Mills, age 94 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, IL

She was born on Wednesday, March 16, 1921, in Jamestown, IL, the daughter of  Gustav and Minnie (nee Remmert) Strotheide.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Jamestown, IL; active member of Women's Guild at St. Paul UCC; Quilters at Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland.

Born at Jamestown, IL; grew up on the family farm.  She married and lived in Highland, Millersburg and then purchased a farm south of the brick church in Bond County.  She actively helped her husband with the farm.  After her second marriage she moved off the farm to Greenville and after her husband's death she moved to Faith Countryside Village, Highland.  She and her husband had enjoyed dancing with groups of frriends. She belonged to Bunco groups, loved playing cards, gardening & canning.  She made 100's of quilts and blankets for Shriner's Hospital and other hospitals.  She loved caring for her family.  She always wanted to "feed" her guests.  Her great grandson was the highlight in her life.  She enjoyed travelling all over the U.S., Mexico and Europe with her family.  She and Ervin enjoyed dancing with groups of friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Jamestown, IL.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Jamestown, IL, with Pastor Don W. Propeck, officiating. 

Interment will be at Jamestown Cemetery in Jamestown, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ; Jamestown Cemetery or St. Louis American Parkinson Disease Assoc. (STLAPDA).
