Horace Young

Horace Harold "Chuck" Young, Jr., 88, passed away 6:45 am. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his daughter's residence.
Born in Sparta, IL on August 1, 1926, he was the son of Horace H. Sr. and Anna (Hill) Young.
He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, the worked as a foreman for Union Tank Car before retiring.
On April 19, 1948 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wood River, he married the former Shirley Weaver. She died March 19, 2012.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Carol) Young of Alton, Paul (Pat) Young of Florissant, MO; a daughter, Barbara (Vince) Milazzo of East Alton; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Brown of Sparta.
Private services were conducted with burial in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton or masses.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
