Helen C. Beiser, 80, died at 1:35 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. Born October 10, 1932 in Alton, she was the daughter of Leroy H. “Roy” and Edwina (Bailey) Beiser. She graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1950 and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. She retired from Illinois Bell Telephone in 1984. Surviving is a sister, Mary Penning of Alton, and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Beiser of Godfrey, 11 nieces and nephews; John and Pam Beiser, Dan and Terri Beiser, Elaine and Don Withers, Joe and Jan Penning, Helen Ann and Dave Fowler, Martha and Darrell Smith, Mary and Dave Boulds, Paul and Debbie Penning, Bob and Margarete Beiser, Julie and Rob Huecker, and Michael and Julie Beiser, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John F. and Robert L. Beiser, a sister, Jane Beiser, a sister-in-law, Agnes Beiser, and a brother-in-law, Rodger Penning. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Pohlman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Ursuline Convent in Alton. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
