Gregory Gale Stanley, 64, of Moro, IL passed away at 9:00 a.m. Wed. Feb. 3, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.
He was born Oct. 7, 1951 in Effingham, IL to the late Gale & Amy (Poynter) Stanley.
He married Debra McKinzie on Sept. 7, 1991 in Las Vegas, NV.
He graduated from Effingham High School in 1970 and attended Eastern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Business. He retired from Millers First Mutual Insurance Company in 2001 after 27 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by: his wife, Debra of Moro and 4 children, Brandy (Keith) Jackson of Wood River, IL, Travis (Beth) Stanley of Green Bay, WI, Justin (Alysia) Stanley of Bethalto, IL and Courtney (Jeremy) Yates of Bethalto, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His grandchildren will always remember he was a “pretty happening dude”. He was also survived by an uncle and several cousins.
Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Fri. Feb. 5, 2016 at Paynic Home for Funerals, 618 E. Airline Dr., East Alton, IL where memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Sat. Feb. 6, 2016 with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
