George Ulrich

George W. Ulrich ended his long struggle with Alzheimer's and dementia on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Dolan Memory Care Home in Creve Coeur, MO.  Born April 6, 1938 to Vallora (Fitzenrider) and Joseph Ulrich at St. Joseph Hospital in Alton, IL.

He was one of the first to attend Marquette High School and Alton High School simultaneously.  He took his skills in design and construction to McDonnell Aircraft's spacecraft and defense programs while attending Washington University night school.  He retired from Boeing in 2003.  During those years he served in the Army.

In 1964 he married Alton resident Marilyn Stobbs and moved to Florissant, MO but retained his Knights of Columbus #460 membership.

George is survived by his wife Marilyn and daughters Diane (Michael) Ressel of Florissant, Paula Eichholz of Kirkwood and son William of O'Fallon, MO.  Grandchildren Amanda and Joseph Ressel of Florissant and sister-in-law Joann (John) Ulrich of East Alton.  He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother John and in-laws Paul and Ruby Stobbs.  

Services: Funeral Mass Saturday, November 21, 10:00 a.m. at  Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Florissant with Msgr. Mark Ullrich officiating.  Visitation Saturday 9 a.m. until time of Mass.  Burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Godfrey IL. Graveside Service conducted by childhood friend Rev. Jerry Wickenhauser of Godfrey.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Jesuit Missionaries (burse of Rev. William Ulrich, S.J.) 4511 West Pine Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108 or the Alzheimer's Association, 9370 Olive St. Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63132.  A service of Hutchens Mortuary and Cremation Center.
