Gaylord D. Lee, at age 61, received eternal peace January 23, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital with his family at his side following a lengthy illness.
Gaylord was born June 6, 1953 to the late Dollie Beatrice (Lee) Dupree and Thomas W. Dupree in Alton, Illinois.
He attended the Alton Public Schools and continued classes at Lewis and Clark Community College. Brother Lee professed his belief in Jesus Christ during his time of illness.
Gaylord was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, uncle, sister, niece, and nephew.
Left to cherish his memories: an aunt, Julia M. Stevenson; lifelong companion, friend and love, Ms. Rene Brown and her family; 3 beloved sisters, Donitha Lee, Rosemary (Rev. John W.) Buford, Patricia (Billy) Adams; 4 brothers, Thomas (Carol) Lee, James M. Dupree, David Dupree and Glen; 6 nieces, Hillary Lee, Lindsay(Anthony) Banks, Jereka Taylor , Victoria Dupree, Beatrice Adams, and Ariyah Smith; 7 nephews, Teffon Lee, Timothy Lee , Ryan (Gail) Lee, Casey Buford, Jared Buford, Thomas Lee Jr., and Tellie Dupree; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
Visitation will convene Friday, January 30, 2015 from 9 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Pastor John W. Buford will officiate.
