Gary D. Treadway, 68, passed away 5:32 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 26, 1947 in East Prairie, MO, he was the son of William H. Sr., and Juanita (Hargate) Treadway.
He had served as a Drill Sgt. in the U.S. Army and then was employed in the Winchester Division of the Olin Corporation as a machinist and gauge inspector for 42 years before retiring in 2007.
On May 27, 2001 in Las Vegas, he married Mary Goble. She survives.
Surviving aslo are two sons, Garrett Trreadway , Shawn (Shelby) Slaton all of Roxana; two daughters, Tammy (Rudy) Olea of Long Beach, CA, Rachel Treadway of Roxana; seven grandchildren, sister, Louise Grazier of East Alton; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William H. Treadway, Jr., and sister, Patricia Treadway.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Michael Adams will officiate.
Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana with Military Honors presented by Alton V.F.W. Post 1308.
Memorials may be made to Life House Community Church in Alton.
