Eva L. Blachford, 87, passed away at 9:50 pm, Monday, December 8, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born in Capron, IL on April 17, 1927, the daughter of the late Rolla C. and Verna A. (Hensen) Duke.
She married Albert Blachford on May 6, 1947 in Belvidere, IL.
Eva was a Fruit Processor for Eden Fruit in Poplar Grove, IL for 30 years. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Rockford, IL. She enjoyed helping her husband on the farm and taking care of her family. Eva was very active in her church and touched many people throughout her life.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Johnson of Ottumwa, Iowa and a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Jan Blachford of Godfrey; along with nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert and her three sisters, her twin Neva Bonsall, Thelma Smith, and Elsie Hoey, and son-in-law, Daniel Johnson.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Second visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of service at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Community of Christ in Rockford, IL with Pastor Gary Elrod officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL.
Memorials may be made to Community of Christ.
